wHAT’S INVOLVED?
Forever Clear Broad Band Light (BBL™) therapy is a non-invasive acne treatment developed by Sciton®. The laser-based procedure treats the root cause of acne in order to clear breakouts—without the need for medicines or creams.
This effective treatment option is typically pain-free and has minimal downtime. Men and women suffering from acne can often obtain significant improvement in their skin when they utilise Forever Clear BBL™ as part of their acne treatment therapy. Depending on the extent of your acne, Dr Jen will create a customised treatment plan to address your skin concerns and help you achieve clearer, healthier skin.
How does the Forever Clear BBL™ acne treatment work ?
The Forever Clear BBL™ procedure utilises blue, yellow, and infrared light energy to clear acne along with the damage it has caused. Broad Band Light (BBL™) is the most powerful form of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), and it works by delivering light energy deep into the skin to target the sebaceous glands and remove acne-causing bacteria. The innovative Forever Clear BBL™ treatment is also designed to stimulate your skin cells to regenerate.

What can I expect during the Forever Clear BBL™ treatment ?
Since the Forever Clear BBL™ procedure is virtually painless, there is no need for a topical anesthetic.
- Step 1: Your skin will first be treated with the blue BBL light, which reaches deep into your pores to eliminate bacteria that causes acne.
- Step 2: A yellow BBL light is then directed at the area to calm inflammation and redness.
- Step 3: As the final touch, your skin will be treated with infrared light using the SkinTyte (please put a link to the skintyte page here) II, which emits quick pulses of laser energy to stimulate the natural healing process.
The entire process lasts about 30 to 60 minutes, though this will vary based on the extent of your needs and number of areas being treated. Patients typically require little to no downtime after their Forever Clear BBL™ treatment, and they can often resume their normal routine immediately after their session. It is normal to develop some redness and inflammation for the first couple days after treatment, but this should quickly fade as your skin continues to heal. Makeup can be applied following treatment if desired.
What results can I expect after Forever Clear BBL™ ?
Most patients can begin to see improvement to their skin after only one treatment. Skin should look clearer and overall more even. For optimal results, your clinician may recommend you undergo at least four treatments, each performed a week apart. Touch-up treatments are also ideal to maintain your positive results and continue fighting acne-causing bacteria. The number of treatments and rate for undergoing follow-up sessions will vary based on the type and severity of your acne.
